More than just an indulgent food & wine experience, we offer guests the chance to unwind and explore until thier heart’s content. Take some down time well spent enjoying the natural swimming pool or have a stroll around the extensive gardens and nearby mountain walks.
Sustainable tourism is our core value and to that end, we offer our guests only organic food and wines at all in-house meals. All ingredients are sourced from local suppliers and local smallhold farmers invloved in the Okm movement of the Catalan region.
We treat all our clients as VIP´s.
Your host and resident chef at BOCA BOCA is Australian born cookbook author, Sophie Ruggles.
In 2003 she took a leap of faith and moved with her husband Michael and daughter Ruby from Australia to Barcelona and within four short months she opened EMU BAR, Barcelona’s first and only Australianasian eatery. The idea was to put a bit of fire into the bellies of her Mediterranean counterparts and the quirky little eatery quickly became known as the only place in Barcelona to get a taste of real spice. Four years later she closed the doors of Emu Bar to dedicate all her time to food writing.
In 2016 the family left the wonderfully vibrant city of Barcelona in favour of a total tree change and moved to La Masia Alt Penedès. The century old building was in need of lots of love and care and after nearly two years of renovation, it is now their new old home, where they offer guests fully bespoke culinary & wine getaways.
